Parker Ranch senior herd sire OSU 6807 Traveler 4145, a maternal brother to Ultra and Integrity, is sired by the now-deceased DHD Traveler 6807, who many cattlemen profess to be one of the most complete Angus bulls ever. "6807" sons are moderate framed, have lots of muscle and pass on that rare combination of light birth weight and high growth in their calves. "6807" daughters are easy fleshing with lots of volume and beautiful udders and milk adequately for their environment. The "6807" genetics will keep money in your pocket due to their lower maintenance requirements. His semen is now scarce and commanding high prices, as are his sons and daughters.
"4145" is gaining more respect every year with our commercial customers – cattlemen who operate in the "real world" of the cattle business... cattlemen who sell pounds of beef, who retain ownership of their calves. The cattle industry is changing rapidly with the influx of alliances and the trend toward value-based marketing. To receive these premiums, cow/calf producers must use the right genetics. At Parker Ranch we are producing these types of genetics to help you reach your goals.
"4145" has come to the forefront of the Parker Ranch sire lineup. This meat machine is massive in his rear quarter and over his top. He is thick, well-balanced and moves well on correct feet and legs. His impressive carcass numbers continue to improve, further strengthening the value of his progeny. Unlike some carcass bulls, "4145" is an extremely easy fleshing bull. And his sons and daughters are just like him.
Considering all factors — carcass merit, superior growth, natural thickness plus the ability to sire excellent, efficient females, we at Parker Ranch believe "4145" to be the "model" of what a carcass sire should be.
